Dream Debut, Hong Yanming Takes World Gymnastics Gold

Hong Yanming pulled off a surprise at the 53rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships. As a debutant, the Chinese gymnast emerged victorious in the pommel horse event after earning 14,600 points on Friday (October, 24).
Yanming surpassed Mamikon Khachatryan of Armenia, who earned the same score. The bronze medal went to American gymnast Patrick Hoopes, who scored 14,566.
Before making his debut at the senior world championships, Yanming had numerous accomplishments in the junior category. He was the champion of the 2025 Asian Junior Championships in Tashkent. Previously, Yanming also won silver at the FIG World Cup.
